Waterman luxury pens have a 120-year reputation.

Lewis Edson Waterman from New York was an independent insurance agent, and one day in 1883 he sat with a client,

holding a new, fancy fountain pen he had just purchased, on their way to close a large and profitable deal.

But to Waterman's misfortune, the pen leaked ink that stained the contract, and while he rushed to the office to get another contract, the deal was cancelled: the competitors had already beaten him to it.

Waterman wanted to create a reliable, simple, and efficient fountain pen, and after about a year of in-depth planning and development, he patented a new pen.

The pens became a huge success, and the name Waterman became a global name symbolizing quality and luxury.
